Cowgirl runs the tire machine

We often stop by "the shop" on our way home form work and daycare.  "The Shop" is at the main homestead and is a metal shed where my Cowboy and his Uncle do all there wrenching on the machinery.  It is also the place where other local farmers stop by to talk and lets be honest... gossip. On this particular day my husband needed to take an old tire off its rim and replace it with a new one.

He ask Cowgirl KJ if she wanted to do it for him and she of course said "YES, yes, yes!" He showed her what petals to step on and told her when to step on it.

It was adorable...

It was exciting...

Peeking out from behind the new tire

and in the end new farm life skill was learned and a tire was replaced.

I think if she could get a tire on the machine she would be taking tire off rims for the fun of it.  Luckily she is 4 and not a body builder!

Oh the fun we have on the farm.

The puppy, the coyote and the anti-wrinkle cream welding Mama

Why a picture of anti-wrinkle cream you ask, well just keep reading~

We have been having trouble with coyote coming to close to our house.  In-fact a month ago they tried to eat our puppy, Beau for breakfast.  We have been keeping a pretty good eye on him, but as all things go, we got lacks after a while.  Well this morning they came back to try again; but I showed them:

I should start by saying Beau is fine.  I had just let him outside and feed him and our older dog Prairie.  Now I live out in the middle of the country and I can wear (or not wear) what I want with no one being the wiser.  So, yes, I feed the dogs in my unmentionables.

After feeding the dogs I walked back inside and started doing my makeup.  Then not 5 min later I heard Prairie started growling and barking.  I knew what was happening those darn coyotes where back to eat our puppy.  So I darted out of the back door of the house welding nothing but my anti-wrinkle cream.  I started sprinting around the house towards the noise.  I was screaming "Beau" as I sprinted.

When I had round the second corner of the house I saw the coyote and started screaming profanity at it and told it to get out of here and leave my poor Beau alone.  At this point I had not seen Beau but heard him whimpering and yelping around the corner so I just kept running I was afraid there was another coyote munching on him.

Okay just to recap: I am running around the house with only my bra and panties, barefoot screaming profanity at a coyote welding only my anti-wrinkle cream.  Yep, you can take a moment to laugh and wipe away the tears.  Returning to my adventure:

After seeing the coyote and Beau still yelping but not in sight I finally thought "I should recruit help." So as I rounded the 3 side of our house I started screaming at my Cowboy to come help me.  He had, of course, already hearing me run around the house screaming like a crazy woman, and had come out the back door (the same one I started at) to investigate.

As I rounded the final corner I see my Cowboy looking completely dumbfounded to see his wife in such a state.  He finally got me to stop running when he said "I have Beau."  I immediately started checking over Beau.  He was still whimpering form the whole ordeal.  I thought for sure they had injured him, but he did not even have a scrap on him. Poor baby was just scared.

It was not till I walked back inside that I realized I was still holding my anti-wrinkle cream.  It took a few minute for me to process my insanity in my shear primal instinct to protect my young.  Several hours later I saw the humor in my actions.  I don't know what I was going to do if had had to fight of a coyote, I guess make sure he was wrinkle free!

Then I decided it was to good of a tale not to share.  My Cowboy is going to see if he can get rid of the coyotes so we can safely let Beau out again.   But I think I heard him mutter something about putting up a video camera...

Have a great day!

All For you Beau,Beau!

New family member

This is Beau. He is a mini Australian Shepard. He is also totally adorable and way more spoiled than intended.
He is my little Cowgirl KJ's puppy. He choose her I think about this time:
This was the day we meet him. This is how he rode home.
This is how he rode on our walk yesterday.
Yes he is in my expensive jogging stroller. We started out with both my Cowgirls squished in the stroller (built for one.) Beau and I ran about 2 miles. Or 1/2 a mile that seemed like two pushing an overloaded stroller. Then the Cowgirls got restless and the puppy go tired and this happened.
Then Beau got up from his short and bumpy nap. And our walk turned into this
Love living where we can make our own fashion statements without judging eyes.
Rocks! Baby Cowgirl loves rocks.
Have a great Monday world.

My Baby Cowgirl (oh look I found this in my drafts)

Meet my Baby Cowgirl.

She turns one on July 13.  I am not sure I am ready for this.  I have been putting of planning her party because I am not ready for my last baby to be one.  I have a date and invited people, I am not a mean mom (don't consult my 3 year old on this though one of her first words was "mean Mom") that will not let her baby turn one with out a ho-rah. It just makes me a little sad to think my baby is turning one.  OK enough isn't she cute with her new cloth diaper?  Oh that is one of her birthday presents.  Guess I am a "mean mom" after all since I give diapers as birthday presents.

Update (I am publishing this as is. It will not publish the way I arranged it in the draft, NO idea why!)

Yikes My last post was in June.  It is not that I have not had anything to report, it is just that I have not taken the time to post anything.  So here is a quick catch up course in photos, form my phone... because heaven forbid I actually use my real camera.  Oh well this is what I've got:

Baby Cowgirl turned 1 in July:

I do let her out of here highchair, every now and then, but when she is out my hands are full. (Totally Lame I KNOW!)

Cowboy Z spent 17 hours one weekend building our girls a play yard.  Only about 10 hours longer than he thought it would take :)
Cowgirl KJ loves it:

Oh gosh Mama even got into the action!

So Does Baby Cowgirl!
I (really don't know what I am doing.  Hopefully this will make Baby Cowgirls picture stay in place.  Every time I preview she moves down below the tractor photo. Sorry for the temporary interruption: technical difficulties I have no idea how to fix.  Who let me start a blog?!?!)

Nope didn't fix it.  Please see  Baby Cowgirl enjoying her swing below.  This is making me so mad.  Now my pictures and words are not together.  This is turning into a disaster!

Then Cowboy Z moved on to yard work. Yes this is how a farmer does yard work. It can be so entertaining to be married to a farmer.  I so love him!

Then it actually rained, and we played in the mud!  Cowgirl KJ loved the mud puddles and gave her mud boots a good workout.

Then my baby Cowgirl KJ started preschool.  This was pretty tough on her old Mama.  I know she has to grow-up and locking her up inside is not the best idea... but I was not really ready for this.  She on the other hand is doing great and loving school.

I am all ready to go Daddy!  Cowboy Z... no we are locking you up in your room till your 20! Ok maybe that was just Mommy's reaction.  But it's my blog I can project if I want.

Oh and this little bundle of joy came into our lives.  We all love her most of the time :)

And you are now up to date.  I will try not to have a long laps again... TRY!

Just one more picture of my little beauty.. I am of course not at all bias!

Show Girls

No, not those show girls... These show girls ----->

Cowgirl KJ had her first horse show this weekend.  It was lead line.  Oh for those who don't know lead line is where someone leads you around on a horse in the show arena.  Cowboy Z Aunt J was the leader.  Sonny Ray was the horse. Cowgirl KJ was the rider.

She did great.  She was amazing. She looked so natural. Her head may have seemed like a bit of  a bobble head, but she is 3, and her horse is 16 1/2 hands tall.  I am so proud of her.  Everyone won and got blue ribbons and a gift bag from the judge.

She had fun and asked before they gave out prizes when she got to do it again.  I was not sure I wanted her to show.  Now I can't wait till the next show.  She did awesome, and I am a proud Mama.  Did I mention she was amazing.

I can see why soccer moms get so competitive, the feeling you get seeing your baby do so well is a huge rush.  I never thought I would be a show mom... but now I think I might have gotten the bug... YIKES

Did I mention she was amazing, and beautiful, and so natural?

Look at my blue Ribbon!!!

Mommy Helping Cowgirl KJ get her helmet on
Oh I did... Sorry, not really I would say it a million more times, She was AMAZING!
